RTW Steel Fabrication & Construction is committed to Occupational Health and Safety and believes this is an integral part of our business operations.  We consider that having sound OH & S systems in place is good business practice.

RTW’s Occupational Health and Safety Policy, Plan and Procedures have been developed with the aim of providing and maintaining a safe work environment for all our employees and clients.  We strive to continually improve our systems and processes.

The RTW Steel Fabrication & Construction Management Team is actively involved in the management and planning of Occupational Health and Safety.  We encourage our employees to be active in observing and recommending changes in the workplace to reduce exposure to any risks and hazards and to behave in a manner that reflects safe work practices and standards.  This responsibility ensures all RTW employees cover their own safety and the safety of others, by carrying out their work in a safe, skilful and competent manner.

Apprentices

RTW takes pride in education and development of our apprentices to reach tradesmen of the highest calibre. We ensure that at the completion of each apprentice’s term he is competent in all facets of the trade including strong work ethic and safety.

Such is the quality output of our apprentices, is that in 2005 and 2008 we had Jeremy Curtin and Leslie Payne represent Western Australia in the World Trade Skills Competition held in Sydney.

Continuing on with our Apprentices good record at the World Skills Competition, Arron Craig recently won the 2009 Sate World Skills Competition in Perth and now heads to Brisbane to compete at a National level.

On The Job Training

RTW has a continual process for on the job training in both safety and personal skills. Qualifications and skills are upgraded at every opportunity to improve the quality of our work force and highlight the importance of working safely.
